About AAST365
All University of AAST Students are registered to use AAST365 and are obliged to check their AAST365
Inbox regularly as it is the AAST's primary method of communication.
Valid accounts for individuals will have the format username@student.aast.edu.
By logging into AAST365, you agree to follow the Rules & Regulations.
Availability
AAST365 is a 24/7 service which is available on-campus via the University's Network and off-campus over the Internet.
AAST IT recommends using the Outlook Web App for AAST365.
If there are any technical problems using this please contact IT User Support .
AAST365 can also be accessed from any email client which can use IMAP or Exchange to connect to the service.
If the email client is covered in a Help Sheet then IT User Support can offer further technical support if needed.
Mailbox Quotas
The maximum size of an email including attachments is limited to 25MB.
All students have a standard mailbox storage quota of 25GB. On approaching this size limit you will receive email notifications to free up space as follows:
Mailbox Size | Status | Action Required |
24.50GB | Warning Email | Users should start to delete unwanted emails |
24.75GB | Prohibit Send | Users cannot send email until they delete sufficient emails to below 24.50GB |
25.00GB | Prohibit Send / Receive | Incoming mail is rejected and a non-delivery note (NDR) is returned to senders |
Deleted Item Recovery
A user-initiated restore utility is available to retrieve deleted
messages or mail folders from the Deleted Items folder for up to 30 days.
Providing the Deleted Items file has not been emptied, emails are recoverable for a further 14 days by contacting IT User
Support.
After this time Deleted Items are permanently deleted. |
